Rogues are deadly melee combatants who rely on deception and misdirection. Mechanics

Stalk

A Rogue's ability to remain in a Stalking state is the meat and potatoes of effective group combat. There are 5 ranks of Stalking that are gradually progressed through while the Rogue remains both stalking and in combat. As ranks progress, the bonuses increase the Rogue's damage, run speed while stalking, as well as reducing the hate generated from all abilities.

Attacks & Finishers

A great majority of a Rogue's damage will be dealt through their general damage-dealing skills. These skills include both enhanced slashes as well as powerful backstabs that usually deal 400% weapon damage and may include bonus damage depending on the skill. Finishers are more powerful abilities available only after a critical Attack that either deal massive damage or apply a powerful effect such as a devastating bleed state or a temporarily broken weapon.

Steal

There are two stealing abilities available to Rogues. The first, Pickpocket, allows one to loot humanoids for goods to sell, equip or use in poison components. The second skill, Plunder, allows one to dig deeper into the humanoid's pockets after having first Pickpocketed.

Self Utility

Rogues have several abilities that allow them to take care of themselves in dangerous situations in either groups or solo play. They range from increasing their skills temporarily, to vanishing from sight entirely with a smoke bomb to return into a Stalking state after being discovered.

External Utility

Not one to be entirely self-centered, the Rogue also has several utility skills to help with groups. Such skills include the familiar ability to temporarily stun an out of combat foe, as well as a surprisingly valiant effort to re-focus hate onto oneself, dropping it from the rest of the party entirely.

Poisons & Scrolls

At level 20 onwards, the Rogue has access to a variety of craftable tools that enable one to further their arsenal of deadly avarice. Poisons allow the Rogue to apply harmful effects to their blades, such as either additional damage, damage over time, or a paralyzing goo that slows attacks and movement speed. Scrolls are more along the lines of ninjutsu spells to enhance ones' abilities significantly.
