Recipes

From Vanguard WikiSpheres

In order to make any items with the crafting system, you must first have the recipe for that item. Recipes are obtained from trainers in the various cities across the world. Like skills, recipes can only be learned when the crafter has reached the appropriate level. In addition, the recipes are divided into tiers, and the crafter must complete a tier quest to access the next set of recipes.

There are three major categories for recipes, which correspond to the method of using the recipe. These categories are Refining recipes, Finishing recipes, and Assembly recipes.

Refining Recipes

Refining recipes come in multiple categories, based on the purpose of the recipe.

Work Order Recipes
Work Order recipes are given by Taskmasters, and can only be used to fulfill the Work Order.
Normal Recipes
Normal recipes take raw materials and refine them into the necessary components for finishing.
Special Recipes
Special recipes are, well, special.

Finishing Recipes

There are also several types of Finishing recipes, divided by the recipes' purposes.

Work Order Recipes
Work Order recipes are those that the crafter obtains temporarily to fulfill the Work Order.
Primary Components
Primary Components include most of the finished products that the crafter will produce for other players. For example, the a Copper Dagger Blade is the final component necessary to produce a dagger; the last step of the recipe combines the blade with a hilt (secondary component) to create a finished dagger.
Secondary Components
Secondary Components are necessary in order to complete the final product, and are created prior to the Primary Components. Hilts are an example of this; the Weaponsmith must have a hilt before creating a dagger.
Miscellaneous Recipes
Miscellaneous recipes include those that are not needed for a profession's multi-part assemblies. Bags and harvesting tools are common examples.
Special Recipes
Finally, Special recipes include those that are given for tier quests and those that are used to improve existing items.

Assembly Recipes

Assembly recipes are used to combine two or more existing items into something new.
